A throwback to Super Mario Brothers
- Many different missions
- Nice graphics and backgrounds
- Helpful tutorial
- Repetitive levels
- Controls are a little clunky
Reminiscent of many early console games, Dino Rush is a game for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
Much like Mario Jump for Android, Dino Rush brings back fond memories of Mario's reptilian sidekick, Yoshi. The colorful levels look quite a bit like the Mario Brothers games from Super Nintendo.
Instead of levels, you get various different missions for your little orange dinosaur to complete on Dino Rush, such as gathering a certain number of fruits or gaining a certain speed by collecting red chili peppers. The controls are simple enough: tapping the screen makes your dinosaur jump and you can fly by keeping your finger pressed down. There are various obstacles and bad guys to avoid as well. To keep yourself alive and kicking on Dino Rush, you need to make sure your little dinosaur remains well-fed on fruit.
One big downside to this game is that the controls are a little clunky. It can be difficult to direct your dinosaur exactly where you want him to go. The short help tutorial is useful for basic guidance however, and practice makes better, if not entirely perfect, with Dino Rush.
For a walk down gaming console memory lane, give Dino Rush a try.
